To Etsy or Not to Etsy

I have to admit that I love when I follow artists and they mention stopping by their "little shop" on Etsy. It conjures images of people busy at work in fantastical storefronts making and creating their goods. Cutting ribbon, laying out craft paper, carefully packaging each item with care.

I've recently opened up my own little shop, and though, the storefront/gallery only exists in my mind, the studio spaces where the actual creating happens is real and is magically special. There are tiny white star lights, places to relax or day dream about the next project, a huge table to spread out or hold large canvases, and purposefully placed items I've collected from my very favorite artists in view in every direction. This is my little shop, where I create and package the original art that is the result of endless inspiration and ideas come to life.

Last year, I worked on a collection called the Otherworld Girls and am excited that Etsy will help find the girls their permanent home. Each one was so fun to create, their personalities would emerge with every layer of paint or embellishment. Some are sassy, some shy, some are mysterious or mystical. Interestingly, one in particular will often resonate with the customer. Perhaps it's the colors or emotions it awakens or something in the short story or description on the back of each piece. They each have a name and a short bio about their particular quirks or what they love doing in their spare time.

With that said, take a look at my little shop on Etsy called, HeatherPearlKlugArt (no spaces for shop names), and see what you think (link below). If there is one that speaks to you, let me know!
